Default Any good repair shops in Chicagoland western suburbs?

Hello all, Recently purchased a '99 XJ8 that needs a little professional attention. Has anyone had any work done at Becker Service Center in Naperville? Thanks!

I've been using Becker exclusively for many years which included work on my '76 XJ-12, '80 928 and '94 SL500. When my '04 XK-8 needs something I can't or don't want to tackle, I'll be bringing it there

Based on the above glowing recommendation, I took my '07 XK that acquired last Nov. (from out of state), to Becker's this week to have an oil change, and a general checkout. I was pleased with their thoroughness and the prices seemed reasonable for what I got.
I'll probably continue to use them.

Any other recommendations? I'll give Becker's a try as well, but it's always good to have a few options. I also read in another thread Coventry Classics is pretty good?

Also found a few on this thread:

Just an update; I just got back from having some work done at Coventry Classics in Richmond. Happy with the results and will continue to use them for my X308.

In a posting in an X150 thread, you said you went to Elmhurst Jaguar for an alignment and they used another shop for that.
What's your thoughts on Elmhurst Jag, and any comments regarding the 'other' shop?
Thanks.

I had an alignment done, an inspection, and a new remote made. I was a little surprised they subbed out the alignment to a shop down the street: no big deal, just surprised me as I assumed there must be some Jaguar magic to the alignment! They did a good job. I suspect had I gone to that garage (Larry's 66 Auto Repair on Lake Street) directly it might have been a bit cheaper..but it was $149 so not terrible.

My experience was good at Elmhurst. It is a bit less glamorous than other Jag dealers, which was fine with me. Here is what I appreciated:

A) They were honest about the condition of the car in the inspection and did not try to make me fix a bunch of stuff that doesnt need work. In fact they said there was nothing that was urgent or needed to be done right away. I have often found the 'lets get some more money while we have you" mentality at other dealers.

B) They were informative about the model. Told me to get a charger and why (which I already have) and explained some other routine things I have read about on the forum but generally said "you can keep this for a long time and we have a lot of people that do".

C) they had a 15% off labor coupon on line and applied it to the whole cost (part and programming labor for my transmitter..that ended being $317+tax compared to $485 I was reading about elsewhere).

D) Tom Sorensen (Service manager) was easy to talk to and seemed to be a straight shooter and knowledgeable. For example he said he sees a lot of used car buyers pay him to use synthetic oil which is not necessary and if you switch over after 30, 40, 50+ thousand miles from dino to syn. you are only asking for gradually seepage and eventual oil leaks and smell of burning oil. Most dealers would push the syn oil change I would guess?

As an aside: I was having back problems and decided against changing the fuel filter I was going to put in so I had "Cars Plus" do it down the street from me (63rd Street in Westmont). They are a general shop but surprisingly had some old Jags and Porsche's in there the day I was there and only charged me $25 to put the filter in. Best money I have spent in a while!

Checked their web page, and I see that if I were to use them, based on their location, I could drop off the car and walk home. Will have to check them out at some point, when I need some work done.

Wow, nice. Looks like the owner is/was a Jag tech.
