Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and just bought a 2004 XJ8. Is there any Jag club out in the western suburbs (Naperville, etc) area? I bumped into a German gentleman a few months ago (outside the Trader Joe's) who had a very nice XJ8, and it would be nice to meet like-minded people every now and then. (Swap life stories, tips on mechanics, etc.) Let me know if there is a way to connect. Thanks in advance...

I just joined the forum, and as a 'new' owner of a 'used' Jaguar, I'd like to hear about any recommendations in the local area. My car came from across the country, so I'd like to get it checked out in the spring by someone reliable, and not just out to clean my pockets because I drive a Jag.

Looking forward to any experienced owners chiming in.

 

I take my XK8 to Becker Automotive near 75th street and Naperville-Plainfield road. Last time I was there he had two other XK8's in the shop.

 

If you find anything like you described, please let me know as I'd be interested myself! To be honest I think I may just start a "Chicago-land Jaguar Club" in the summer and see if I can get some people together to enjoy the cars and life.

 

I would be interested in a Jaguar club, MG Club, or a British car club.

Hi all. Good to know that there is some interest. Would the Jaguar Clubs of North America would be a good place to make an enquiry? Their list of non-sanctioned events is attached below, and it looks like there are a couple in the midwest coming up in the spring, including a cocktail party in June (in Indiana). But perhaps we need to find something local where we could get together every couple of months or so for drinks, coffee, conversation about Jags and whatever. (Just throwing that out there.) Hi everyone. A meet-up sounds like a good idea, although I'm leaving my Jag in the garage for the next few weeks. But I can always take my rusty mini-van. Even if we don't take our Jags, we can talk Jags. I'm wide open except for Feb 25-27. A civilized, quiet place for drinks, etc, might be nice. (Sullivan's in Naperville? Pizzeria Neo has a good wine selection.) Am open to suggestion.
