Default British Car Show, Jersey Shore

September 20th 2014 Ocean Grove, NJ, Brits on the Beach car show.
This will be the 17th annual show. If you are a lover of British cars, there will be well over 150 examples of the finest from Jaguar, MG, Triumph, Rolls Royce, Bentley. Morgan, Austin Healy, Aston Martin, Lotus and some you may of never heard of.

The show is put on by The Positive Earth Drivers Club, which if anyone got involved in the early British cars would remember they were wired reverse polarity with the positive being what we are now know as being ground.

Ocean Grove is a truly beautiful example of an old Jersey Shore town and ironically didn't even allow cars until not too many years ago. The town is just south of Asbury Park. The cars are lined up on main street a block in from the ocean.

I can't think of a better reason to get into your Jag and take a ride to the jersey shore. My Jag is entered so if you come to the show stop and say hi.

Too bad it's the same weekend at the British Invasion Car Show in Stowe VT or I would be there too.

Thanks for the info! My old stompin' grounds. I used to park my '71 Charger R/T on main street Bradley Beach, on Sundays when I was dating my wife who lived on Abbott Ave. No Cars on Sunday, no Bare-chested Men and no spitting on the sidewalks back then!

I'm really looking forward to it, pictures are a must! There is a British car show up in Ottawa that same weekend. So many choices so little time.

I am definitely going to try and make this. While I live in Hartford, CT now I grew up in East Brunswick 45 minutes north of the show.

Where can I find more information on this show? it's slightly closer than jersey Shore for me and a MUCH easier (and more fun!) ride.

Thank you SO much! I am now torn between this and Stowe VT which seems to be quite the weekend event. Joisey seems a tad simpler so it may be better for me but in the coming weeks I will need to decide.

Thanks again (even though there's no class for XF )

From everything I've heard about the Stowe even (never been) it is a great event but is pretty expensive if your staying over, eating etc. I'd personally chose Bronte Car Day over either as I was amazed at the number of cars there last year. More than one can look at in a 5 hour time period.

When and where is Bronte? Stowe is a tad costly and longer and more than I'm really looking for right now. I'm a newbie so thanks!

MrKitty,
I was in Tuckerton yesterday looking at a boat, had a nice lunch at Dobb's Poor House (I think it was called that).

Barry,
This is the one show that I've without regret brought my wife to in the past as there is shopping and plenty to do, then towards the end she can check in to the b and b. It works out as well that it is a good quick anniversary get away as well so with that said, since you're pretty local, can you make a recommendation for a place to eat dinner. She's vegetarian (no fish either) which means there are only a few nicer places in the area I've seen with any veg. options, most of which are of course pasta or the like. Last time we ate at a Mexican place that was pretty good but I am leary about parking the TVR there again as it wasn't in the greatest of neighborhoods up in Asbury. Any ideas would be great. A nice Thai place would work, or just about anything that has a couple non complete carb veggie meals. I eat nearly anything so I'm good where ever.

Hey Ben,
That's why I don't bring my wife, all the shops around the cars, I would have to sell my Jag. I'm a big time seafood person, last years right across the street from my show spot was a restaurant that made these outrageous lobster salad sandwiches and I do believe they had vegan selections too. I will check it out for you and get back to you.

I am looking forward to seeing your TVR.
