Default Gearbox Fault

We have a 2002 X type with 120K miles haven't had any trouble with Transmission, worked great. As wife was driving on back roads the engine started racing in 3rd to 4thgear or 4th to 5th. She limped back to house. The dash says gearbox fault and cruse control not available. When I pull the Codes they are P0734,P1780 and of course P1000
When I drive the car the RPM goes up and Trany does not shift "like it slips". I check trans fluid had more then one pint over. Decided to drain fluid, got 2 ½ Qts more so with the extra ½ Qt from the overflow I took 3 qts out. So I put 2 ½ new Fluid in and took it for aspin. No change same codes. Old fluid was brown but no change in viscosity was not gritty as best as I can tell. At this point I have stopped the Fluid exchange program as outlined in other threads, in place of getting more info. Can anyone HELP before I go or do unnessary things.
Thanks gperna
