Mine did the same thing and I had to change the two lines that open and close the top.

 

Too bad you're up in Rochester. I've done more of them than i can count. You need to replace the top hoses for the header latch. They run from the right rear trunk across the floor, under the drivers seat, up the a-pillar and to the latch. Jag did try a repair kit for them but that caused a new leak. Just need to find someone to replace the hoses. It usually takes me about a day to do them and I recommend replacing the drivers treadplate insert as well. My all cash repairs are $950. That includes hoses, insert, oil, and vacuuming and light cleaning of the interior from the oil. I hope you can find someone good to take care of it for you! Good luck.
