Re flat battery on the SType Jaguar You cannot get into the boot ? The hidden boot / trunk Key Slot. Is Not where you have all been told it is. It’s on the far left of the panel that contains the number plate lights ! Don’t know why others are saying under the Letter “U” of the word Jaguar on the boot lid plinth Look to the far left. And you will see a tiny hole where you put your key Turn key and up pops the Boot / trunk lid, Hope this helps ... FROM RAY ESSEX ENGLAND

 

On the X200, the boot locking cylinder is located under the chrome plinth just above the number plate.

my friend has found himself locked out of his S Type R (2005). Because of a flat battery. We read the various forums explaining how to open the boot - trunk - And we could not find the key slot. I then found a video of a walk around The guy showed how to find the Key slot. It was not under the Plinth. It was right to the far left In a little recess Near to the number plate light ! Etc, ... I have placed this forum reply so that those the USA as well as the U.K. having problems getting into their boot / trunk Can take a look and hopefully sort their problem out, Best regards from Ray Epping Essex ...

 

2005 model Jaguar S Type R Boot / trunk key slot. Is On extreme left of boot lid Near to the left side Number plate light... It’s tiny So look carefully. You will find it, Other Jaguars May have the Key slot located more ‘central’ Just above the Number plate plinth ... as per forum remarks by NB Cat (Above) post....

 

Hi. I mentioned that the Key slot was above the Chrome plinth On the Jaguar S Type (2005 model) It is in fact below the plinth but over far to the left close to the Number plate light assembly etc, Don’t force the key. Just try it both ways around until the boot lid pops up .. etc.. Ray Essex
