Leavenworth Drive

Yep... I'll gladly host it.
I posted the date once, but have forgotten... (I believe it was the last Sunday in September, as the first weekend of October brings out a HUGE crowd for Oktober Fest)
Unlike past events, it will be a Sunday to avoid the Autumn Leaf Festival parade completely. Not sure if it will limit attendance, but after several Saturday attempts, the walk gets longer and longer from available parking spaces.

Well, cr@p...
I mention Sunday, and two of our regular group immediately indicate it isn't doable for them.
This is kinda why I hate presenting drives, because no matter the date, I end up leaving good people behind.
Anywho...Lets get this party started! I'll give members a week (ends Sep 7th) to pick Saturday or Sunday..... Majority wins.
Saturday has always been our traditional event, so if that is preferred, so be it... However, as I said before, we have for the past several years conflicted with the Autumn Leaf Festival, making access and parking very difficult. Also, those that have difficulty walking distances have suffered due to the poor parking options. I had hoped to alleviate that by moving things to Sunday. (Hey...seemed an easy fix on the surface as I have both days open, but then, I guess I expected it to be a questionable choice best vetted by everyone here.)
So, post your name, and which dates you can attend. Saturday, Sept 29th or Sunday Sept. 30th, and let's get this annual event rocking!
1.) Clevername 29th or 30th
2.) Swimref 29th? (pending confirmation)
3.) XJDanny 29th? (pending confirmation)

Unfortunately the 29th is even worse for me than the 30th. This is a very busy time of the year for me. The only weekend days I have free near this date are Saturday 9/22 and Sunday 10/7. I'm very sorry to have to miss the group drive yet again but Karen and I may do our own 1 car drive to lunch at Andreas Keller on one of those free days. Have fun, everyone!

I was hoping you'd sent so they could help pick, but lets just call it Saturday.
For newcomers:
We care not what condition your kitten is in, daily driver, restoration project, or pristine show car...the marquee itself is our statement.... We love our cars and enjoy keeping the linage of these beauties alive, both past and present.
But the annual Cascadia Cats to Leavenworth is much much more. It's the people you meet, comradery shared, and friendships made that let this event stand out.
This is a family event...
The typical drive begins in Monroe WA around 9:00am. A stop or two (photo ops?) before reaching Leavenworth lets us get out and mingle.
Once in Leavenworth, Andrea Keller’s has been our primary lunch gathering although the parade last year made the wait long enough that we sought out someplace different. (Your free to explore on your own if you desire). Remaining spare time allows for visiting a shop or two before heading back west via Hwy 97 and I-90.
We take a brief stop in Cle Elum, for ice cream and restroom break.
As we summit in late afternoon, many choose to depart for home, or if enough interest remains, we end with a dinner parting.
FRS radios are used for car to car communications, so if you need a set, they are inexpensive and available at most any generic retail chains.
Anyone is welcome to join or depart the group at any time, but letting us know what to anticipate would be appreciated.
Join us on the 29th by getting you name on the list... It's always a great time!

Thanks XJD,
We really struggled this year with weather, fire and my inability to focus on any kind of drive. It was never an intent to alienate or disappoint anyone, but we certainly didn't do a lot to increase our ranks, which is a bad thing.
Anyhow, lets see this list start to grow! 'Cause our annual event is finally here!
WooHoo!

We meet in in the parking lot of the Safeway in Monroe and head out a little after 9:00. We back the cars In next to each other for the first photo op. After a little chatting and going over how it all works, we hit the road.
See you there!
Danny

Awesome, now we've got a party! Thanks to XJDanny for spreading the word! I'll print up an itinerary and map and drop a copy here for everyone. I also want to point out that if anyone interested in picking up some of the planning, or if you have ideas that could be fun, post them up!
