September meet and drives
Well, end of summer is approaching, and those last nice weekends are numbered.
Listed events for the month are:
September 1st-2nd - All British Field Meet/SOVREN Historic Races - Portland Raceway
September 6th -The 3rd Annual Concours d'Elegance Tour d'Jour - LeMay Museum Tacoma WA
September 7th-8th - Luxury + Supercar Weekend - Vancouver BC
September 7th - Winthrop Vintage Wheels - Winthrop WA
September 8th - Kirkland Concours d'Elegance -
Sep/Oct - ?? - Cruse to Leavenworth - JaguarForum Members get together
Labor day usually signals the return to school, and our parks and road once again open up the lucky traveler seeking adventure around the next bend.
The second annual Leavenworth drive needs to get on the calender, keeping in mind that October brings "Oktoberfest", and changing colors of the leaves.
Last years event happened on October 20th, and weather gave us a snowy shock, so Late September or first week in October may be our best place to focus.
Sept. 7,14,21,28 are our weekends for drives or otherwise. Oct 5,12 are the first two Saturdays of that month.
Leavenworth on the 28th or Oct 5?
I may still plan a two day over the North Cascades, and attendees are welcome.
Other day drive ideas?

I definitely want in on the Leavenworth run again. The run last year was outstanding, I think the most fun for me of any of our drives. Having all four seasons in a single day was a treat, fun from start to finish. I thought the timing was ideal. As for availability this year, my schedule is pretty tight. October 19th or 26th is pretty much all I have free, although Sept. 14th is a maybe.

This one's right by my house- Langley GoodTimes Cruise-in :: Home
Primarily American muscle and classics from the 50s and 60s, it also has imports, some British stuff,a mix of cars. It's a big show, they close off downtown for this event.
Unfortunately, I'll be flying home from Halifax that day, and will miss the event.

Got myself signed up to run Maryhill Loops road again this year on the 14th!
Now on good Bridgestone S-04 tires instead of last years garbage Goodyear All Seasons... Can't wait to have some fun!

Well we do see a few drives slowly forming by our PNW members....
I for one, am pointed south to the Dalles the afternoon of the 13th to play on a very famous 2.2 mile stretch of asphalt know as "Maryhill Loops Road" the following day. This road is known for being the first paved road in the state of Washington, and has 13 blissful curves to ignite your driving passion. The road is closed to the public and rented for the day by Audi Club Northwest.
I would invite any to drive south to the Dalles to see the scenery, and stop by the event, where you can ride shotgun in a variety of amazing cars (90% Audi's). If interested, we could stay an additional evening and return up glorious Wind River Road. Time is short so interested parties need to speak quickly.
For those not following the "Octoberfest 2013", we are now scheduling our second annual "Drive to Leavenworth" on the 29 of September. Departing from Monroe, all Jag owners are welcome to attend this all-day trek. Lunch in Leavenworth is always a tasteful experience, and we will attempt to drive a few side roads both to and from to take in the scenery.
Be sure to hope over to that thread and sign up!
Any members looking at other runs for the month Post up!

Guess it will be "Septemberfest" now...
Don't forget to go sign yourself up in the thread...
I'm not sure of my free weekends as of late, I now have two taken with drives already and am juggling tasks to accommodate them.
May be able to take a run one day next weekend, but not certain yet...
Could keep it simple like Hurricane Ridge.... Food for thought unless others want to speak up....

Well, this is a first.... Next Saturday, Audi Club Northwest has rented a blissful piece o road known as Maryhill Loops Road down near Goldendale WA.
Now something like the 5th or 6th annual event, this is the first time the event did not sell out in 1day! In fact, of the 40 driver slots, 4 are still open!
For those of you Jag owners that like to toss your Cat about the twisities, I might recomend you Join ACNW (a $65 annual fee, no Audi required) which allows you access to events like this, as well as a minimum of three track events. The events cost extra of course (Maryhill is $75 for example), but having the door open to you in the first place is priceless.
Would be cool to have another Jag join in at the event, as the road is a privlege to drive with no traffic!
Again, I'm shocked to see slots still available, as this is a first!

Sadly, none that I know of...
This was a recent topic of conversation with the forum moderators, as I expressed the difficulty of being helpful to members in other States (in my case Idaho, and Oregon).
What we need is find a few dedicated souls in those areas willing to help draw members to local gatherings. Being up North I cant do a whole lot from here except the occasional Columbia River runs in the summer.
Volunteers?

Fun is an understatement!
The chance to drive a twisty road with no fear of traffic is a an amazing experience!
I asked my son to snap a few shots.... which he did of every other car but mine.....grrrrrr....
He did get one video, which at least shows part of the event!

10 runs... 5 in the AM, and 5 in the afternoon...
Could have gotten more if I wanted to stay late and help clean up, but my son and I had a 4 hour drive ahead of us so we bolted early to get home.
Rode shotgun in a couple sweet cars as well. the Audi R8 is an impressive machine, and even the Tesla S was an experience of its own!
