Hello all. I am planning a Meet And Drive here in Houston, most likely for Labor Day, September 3, 2022 (not yet written in stone). Although it is open to all sports cars, especially convertibles, I really welcome my fellow Jaguar owners to join. The plan is to meet at Hooters on FM 1960, just a block west of I-45, around 11-11:30 Monday. After introductions, checking out the cars, and waiting for late arrivals, I expect we would leave at High Noon In Texas, taking one of several routes to Highway 105 west past Lake Conroe to FM 149. Then north through the Sam Houston National Forest (curvy roads, high trees, low traffic, temperature drops 10 degrees immediately), a couple of other roads, winding up in Carlos, Texas at Yankees Tavern, a great biker hangout with good food.

So far we have: Jaguar F-Type, BMW Z4, Corvette, 1 or 2 Harleys. Please post here if you have any interest. Thanks.

 

I’m interested in an event like this, but the timing may not be optimal with a high chance of rain over Labor Day weekend.

 

Thanks for your reply, Golfntjtl. Yes, I have been worried about the rain. I will let you know if we move it up to Saturday or Sunday, or still try for Monday, or just cancel. We should have a better idea Friday. Stay safe, my friend.

 

Any plans on doing a similar event soon? I’m in the cypress area by 1960 & 290. Have a blue S Type R.

I typically will go to the octane and espresso car meet on the second Sunday of every month. That’s held at the black rifle coffee company location off of 7086 Highway 6 Houston Tx 77095. Usually is from 8am to 10am but I’ll typically get there around 7:30am to get a good spot. They just had their event yesterday so the next one should be April 9th but being Easter I’ll post about it as the date gets closer.

 

Any coming up soon in 2023?

 

There’s a little car meet at the Black Rifle Coffee Company on the second Sunday of every month. They had one last month and it was quite successful and this month’s meet is coming up on the 9th so give or take 6 days. Usually starts at 8am but I get there around 7:30 or so to get good parking. Hope to see some of you there!
