jaruar xjr 4.0 my car keep cutting off
Hi my name is johntheo i have a 96 xjr and my car keeps cutting off when i smash on the gas hard or when it warms up it cuts off. When i come to a stop it bogs out and cuts off it putts sometimes and cuts off. I changed the air flow meter and I've changed fuel pumps. I took it to the muffler shop cause I was told the exhaust was backed up. They said that's not the problem. My check engine light is not on ,but it comes on when the car gets ready to cut off. If it catches back before it cuts off, my air bag light come on. I have to turn my car off to get the air bag light to go off. As long as I ease on the gas it will go and pick up speed but when I slow down it does it all over again. I also cleaned the throttle body. I can't seem to figure it out. I was told that it could probably be my throttle position sensor. Can someone please help me out.? Thank you for your time. If you can email me that would be fine. My email is johntheo@ymail .com or call me at 510 575 6987 thanks again.

The "could be" list is long.
Even though the check engine light isn't on all the time I would have the system scanned to see if any trouble codes are lurking. If so, you might get some important clues. Most auto parts stores will scan the system for free but if you plan on keeping the car you should buy a scanner. You'll be needing it. A basic home mechanic scanner is only $150 or so.
My gut feeling is that you have a couple ignition coils breaking down. Common issue on these cars.
Remove the coil cover and run the engine in a darkened garage. If you see flashing/sparking through the epoxy of a coil, it's a dud. Note that *lack* of this flashing doesn't prove that a coil is good.
Cheers
