Where were you thinking of for lunch?

Redd Wood in Yountville is good I hear- bib gourmand recommended

If you want to go to NAPA, Redd is a one Michelin star restaurant that never dissapoints.


We will need advance reservations for any place around there on the weekend.

 

If I read your list correctly it appears I am a maybe, not sure why. Please consider me confirmed.

Also, does anyone want to meet earlier in the morning for the drive to Fairfield? If so, please PM me as I will be heading from South Santa Clara Valley, Gilroy to be exact. I am thinking a Starbucks in Morgan Hill and near SJC maybe good gathering points.

P.S. Redd Wood looks good. Bistro Jeanty is also excellent for lunch, but it can get pricey.

 

There are 20 restaurants in Yountville. Pacific Blues Cafe has a nice deck. I had figured to let everyone pick their own place since we could be looking at 20 people depending on how many show and bring someone with them.

Your idea of meeting up in the south bay is a good one.

 

I think my wife Joyce and I will be going to Redd wood. We will need reservations as the # of people through these areas this time of year rivals Disnyland. Who else should I count for making reservations at Redd wood?

Besides - If I don't get some side support for those seats or a four point harness, I'm going to be all over the place in that car on windy roads....

I just made a reservation at Redd Wood for 4 people, Jeff (Waterdragon) and Joyce + Scott and Wendy on Sat, April 6, at 12:30. The reservation is under Joyce Tang.

They only take reservations for up to 4 people on their web site http://www.redd-wood.com/ Use the "reserve a table" link in the middle right of the page which takes you to Open Table.

Mal or Dave, and anyone else who would like to join us at Redd Wood - please make your own reservation so they have enough space for all of us.
When you make your reservation say in the comments that you want your table to be next to Joyce Tang's table at 12:30.

Please post here soon so I know someone has made another reservation and we will have enough space.

So now the only reservations available close to that time that are @ 11:45 and 1:30. Any other ideas? Seems like we should find a place where we can get a group reservation. Or do we will just plan on this gathering ending @ 12:30?

When I made a similar run with the NorCal drivers we didn't have reservations and ate at Pacific Blues. I can see if I can increase my reservation or just go wild and see what we find. I don't care if we just have a burger at Gott's Roadside in St. Helena. Getting together was the purpose of this little get together. We'll figure it out. Send me a PM and I'll give you my phone number. It would be easier to talk.

There is also ad hoc in Napa which has a nice picnic table settings outside which could accommodate all of us. Not very expensive either.

I agree this really is more of a Jag meet than a foodie thing anyways.

p.s. Hey Marc, I don't know if you are interested or not, but Rob gave me a full set of lowering springs from his XKR, they do not fit my XJR, but would fit yours if you want them. They are free to a good home

NEWS FLASH!

I can get a reservation at Redd Wood for ALL OF US at 12:15 by calling them. I asked about 12, they said not a problem.
This is one of the rare places with good food that is not expensive in this area.
