Freebee to anyone who wants a set of lowering springs from a 2004 XKR

front and rear springs
These are hand me downs from Enderle and they do not fit on XJRs
If anyone wants them I will bring them for free

I am now being told we will have to all order a set menu that we can decide.

More details coming soon. I am to hear from the manager tomorrow (Monday) what we can choose from.

We will be getting a room that can accomodate 20 people.

Jeff

You are doing a great job on the lunch plans. I appreciate your assistance. Are you sure you don't what to join the run up?

Can you give me any details on the spring specifications so I can research.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Rob tells me the blue front springs are from Mina and the rear Orange ones are HKS. You can call Mina and see if your year and his (2004-2006?) can swap.

All I know is they do not fit the XJ series.

I wish I could meet up sooner, but have other commitments Sat morning. I expect to have more free time this summer. I will still meet everyone for lunch.

Both Mina and HKS list them for the entire series so they should work on your car. I had an noise issue in the front and thought it was because the Mina springs weren't stiff enough, turned out that someone had installed the wheel well liner wrong (previous owner), became an issue with the wider front tires. That's why the mixed set. The springs from the two vendors are actually pretty similar but they are stiffer than stock..

Rob,

I apprecieate the offer on the springs. I will give me a good weekend project. I assume the lowering height is about the same for the front and rear, yes? Again thanks.

OK, slight change in reservations.

I was just told by Redd Wood, that if we reserved as I did prior, the cost would be a whopping $55 per person with less choice...

SOoooooooooo...

Now I have changed Dave C's 12:15 reservation from 4 to 8 people
and we also have a reservation for an additional 6 under Joyce Tang at 12:30

So to sum up:
8 person reservation at 12:15 under Dave C
6 person reservation at 12:30 under Joyce Tang

this gives us a total of 14 reserved seats

And we can order whatever we want this way.

Well done. If there are more people we/they can wing it.
Thanks,

Actually they will likely lower the rear more than the front if your car was configured like most that came into the states. For some screwy reason our cars are configured with the rear higher than the front giving them kind of a jacked up look. Once installed the springs will level the car so it flat likely it always likely should have been. Be aware that you're camber will be way off after this is done and you'll need to make sure you have the adjustable bolts in the front and will need to get shims for the back to bring the camber back in line. My tire and wheel shop fixed the front of my car and I ordered shims out of Paragon in England once I knew how much my camber was off and that sorted it. The Shims go between the half shafts and the differential and can be done without dropping the rear end. It took the wheel and tire shop about an hour to dial in the camber in front and install the shims so it wasn't a very difficult job.

Rob,
You make it sound so easy. So the install is not the issue, just getting everything sorted out after. Will I run into needing new bushings, etc.?

Default Here's the Plan

All,

The plan is to meet in the south parking lot of Solano Community College (4000 Suisun Valley Rd.) between 9:00 to 9:30AM on Saturday, April 6th.

We will head out no later than 9:45 and head straight north on Suisun Valley/Wooden Valley Road to Monticello Rd./CA-121. This is a true Jaguar route with lots of curves and hills.

We then go north on Silverado Trail to a winery in St. Helena. After the first stop we head south to Yountville for lunch. We have reservation at Redd Wood (let WaterDragon know you are coming).

After lunch I have a great spot for a photo op and perhaps another winery after that.

I will have maps and directions for the exact route when we meet up on April 6th.

Please let me know if you are bringing anyone as a co-pilot I will be able to get a better count.

See you all in a couple of days.
