Default how to remove and clean egr valve

I've an x type 2.2 d sport. I put my foot down today and lost a bit of power top end then my coil light started flashing. I got home without any issues other than the flashing and took it easy. When i got home and switched off the engine. Then i held down the trip button and turned the key to position II. no error codes. No flashing coil light.

A bit of research on the net seemed to suggest the egr valve is dirty and sticking.

my x-type 2.2d estate (56 plate) has an intermittent fault, - JustAnswer

Here is a link on how to remove it and clean it rather than buy and fit a new one.

Once you get the EGR off, use some carb cleaner and spray it really good. Keep spraying until the fluid runs clear. Reinstall the EGR and call it good.
