Roof Bars
So I decided I needed a set of roof bars. I didn't want cheap strap on bars so I bought from Jaguar.
What came in the box?

The box opened.

Two bars

Parts bag to include 1 Allen key, 4 thread cleaning bolts, 4 retaining assemblies, 4 spacers

End caps, keys, and rubber inserts.

Fitting Instructions

Paint protectors

Punch out the holes in the roof.

Mounting threads down inside the holes.

Cleaning out the threads I used one of the four thread cleaning bolts on all four holes. It just mushes the goo out of the way. Screw it in, take it back out, clean threads.

Roof bar with rubber insert installed Do this while it is off the vehicle. Much easier than after the bar is mounted on the vehicle

End cap installed

Done

Excellent photos especially of the roof and the threaded holes.
Good to see you have bought the proper bars.
I bought some of Ebay for the time in the future I might need them.
They are made by Thule so you can easily get spare keys ( in the UK ) by Noting / quoting the number on the lock.
I recently bought the replace plastic protector pads kit.
C2S16430 - Made in Sweden ( no surprise).
It contained eight of the thin clear plastic pads, four screws for the roof and an Allen key.
Cost Ł15 so look after all the parts.
Jaguar also sold Jaguar branded roof boxes.

I've got similar on my car (proracks - http://www.whispbar.com.au/), and they work extremely well. I use a roof pod, ski racks, bike racks, and I've even had a sailing dinghy up there!
The only challenge is the little covers that fit back over the mounting point. I seem to have snapped off the retaining tag on one of them, and on another the hardware inside the strip on the roof seems to have gone AWOL.
Enjoy!

I am a pack rat by nature, I save all the extras.
Mine will mostly be hauling kayaks, with occasional pieces of lumber.
How did you resolve the no threads in the whole problem?

Those were made to be removed. What I haven't done ( at least not yet ) is drill a couple holes to mount a front license plate bracket.
If you loose the little caps that fit in the roof?
The only info I have :-
They are listed as "Cap Finsishers". The part numbers I have are C2S31080 (black, left and right)
or C2S20890XXX (paint to match, right) and C2S20575XXX (paint to match, left).

Guys, thanks for the info on the part numbers. When I was referring to hardware inside the roof I was meaning something on the inside of the strip that runs fore/aft that the little clips fit into (wow, that's a bad description!).
