02 x trip and mileage calculater
I asked this like a year ago. The button on the turn signal post that changes the odometer settings to fuel usage trip etc. hasn't worked in a while. It always worked without fail, got in one day and nothing. the buttons on the lower left dash work, just can't change functions. Is there a hidden fuse or something
thanks in advance

louvit, ok, based on what you are describing, we are down to 4 components. So, this is good, this is bad. You have the turn signal stalk, the buttons on the dash, the interconnecting wiring, or the instrument cluster. As you can imagine, the instrument cluster is what I would hate to see you have to mess with replacing as this opens up another big can of worms.
What I want you to try is removing the plastic cover from around the steering column so you can access the plug for the turn signal stalk. If you look, you should have a large plug connected to the turn signal stalk. If you look closely on the plastic, you should see numbers next to each opening on the plug. I want you to find "10" which should have a black wire running into that opening. At this point, I want you to make a little jumper wire by taking some solid core wire (say 12" long) and stripping back about a 1/2" of insulation off of each end. Turn the car to the RUN position (engine can be running, but doesn't need to be, mainly after getting the instrument cluster powered up) and stick one end of the wire in hole #10 and touch the other end to any piece of metal in the area. Did the message center change? If yes, then this confirms you have a bad turn signal stalk. Replace.
Lets start with this and if we have to go further, a better game plan is going to be needed. I will also need to know if you have a multimeter and have a basic understanding of how to use it or know someone that can help you out.
