It can be done. You'd need to drill a tiny hole on each side of the crack, that will stop the crack from spreading, then sand down the crack to get good adhesion. Use a product like J/B Weld or something similar, the coolant system is only around 15 PSI so it should work. Let it dry for a few days or even a week before putting it back on; should work.

Of course, you could purchase a "T" and install it.
However, if that plastic is cracked, I assure you the plastic thermostat housing is also "on it's way out". My thermostat housing failed first, before the "T".
I suggest that you purchase the part and spend the time to install it correctly. It will eliminate the risk of the typical plastic thermostat housing failure.

If you are going to replace just the "T" fitting, you must find a source for one other than Jaguar parts. In other words, go to a junkyard and find a metal part that "might" work. Or have a fabricator make one out of metal pipe.
By the time you've come up with a viable plan, the energy expended and the money spent and the gas wasted, you could have purchased the proper part and prevented future engine failure due to a failed thermostat housing.
I'm sorry to say, these plastic parts have a very limited lifespan.

Get some Belzona 1221 (Super E-Metal), diesel mechanics use it to seal blocks and expansion tanks on big rigs. I talked to one today, he told me Belzona 1221 (Super E-Metal) makes JB Weld look like child's silly-putty. It's good to about 8000 psi, about 350f. This guy told me that he's sealed a cracked block with this stuff, then drilled a hole in it, tapped it, put in a bolt and torqued it down. Pretty amazing if you ask me. But, you have to buy it from a distributor.
