03 x - been smashed should i buy n fix??
heres the scoup... car is listed with 150km on her, starts up still, no frame damage.
needs rad and rad support,d/s airbag (saw one for sale for 50 or $100), headlight housing ($200) (p/s) and a hood $???.
the bumper is damaged but it looks easily fixable and same with the one fender that has a small bend, i think i can have that hammered out.
he is asking $2800 im thinking i can get it for 2grand but im going to aim for $1500...the only part i think ill have a problem finding is the hood and maybe the rad support.
anyone know a good place to get cheap used parts?condition not important, just functional.
what do you guys think this will cost in repairs?
im not worried about paint, i have a paint gun and im thinkin of just goin flat dark grey with the whole car.

Dude there is no chance in hell I would buy that. I'll bet there are at least 2K in buried broken parts. I forgot another thing, if it has salvage or rebuild on the title it's not worth squat. No resale value, they're a good deal if you want to drive it forever, until it's dust, but that's it.

Did the insurance company total it?
I'd get an adjuster or a body shop guy to give you a run down on what parts it's going to need to be sure. Then I'd go over it with a fine tooth comb looking for possible other problems.
It looks like it took a nose dive under the back end of an SUV so you really might not have anything super horrible to deal with.
If you can get it for $1500 and get away with $2000 in repairs that are SURE to fix it right, then that's the ONLY way I'd consider it at all.

I have a friend who rebuilds wrecked supercars and re-sells them. He says rule number 1 is: "If the wrecks in the rear, have little fear, If wrecked in the front you probably should run..."
If the engine sits in the front of the car, and the front is wrecked, you're running higher risk of internal problems later. Obviously, when he buys Lamborghini's or Ferrari's with rear-mounted engines, he looks for the ones wrecked in the Front....
