Default 03 x type 2.5 Spark Plug ?

First off I want to say thank you to EVERYONE who has their input on this thread. I'm a new Jag owner and this forum has helped me treamendously!

Okay, I have seen plenty of information on replacing the spark plugs on the 3.0 but I can't seem to find much information on the 2.5. Can anyone please let me know where I can find the part #'s that are needed to replace the plugs? Is this something I can pickup at my local autoparts store or must I go to the dealer?

Intake Upper Gaskets
Intake Lower Gaskets
Spark Plugs (O.E.)
Anything else might needed

Thanks,
John

John, the 2.5L and 3.0L motors are effectively the same. The only difference is the crank in the bottom of the motor. The block and intakes are the same. So, what you found on the 3.0L motor will apply to your motor.

So, when looking at spark plugs, what advice you found for the 3.0L motor will apply to your car. As for the gaskets, the local auto parts stores will carry them, but they do not necessarily call them by those names. The upper gasket set simply goes by the intake gasket set. The lowers are called the manifold gasket set. Each set of gaskets can be had for under $20 at your local auto parts store. If they do not say they carry them, ask them to look up the parts for "03 Lincoln LS 3.0L". They should find them there. The Lincoln uses a lot of the same parts, but not all. But, in this case, they are the same.

Thank you Thermo!!! It appears that there is a set I can pick up for around $30 that comes with the uppers and lowers.

Thanks again!

To Thermo
From what I just read does that mean that if I do an engine rebuild, a 3.0L crank will give me 500cc extra ?. Also would it be worth doing.

Goldstar, it isn't just a crank that you would have to replace. You would also need to get new connecting rods too. By the time you get the new crank and connecting rods, you will probably find it easier just to get your hands on a used 3.0L motor that is needing rebuilding and then go that way. This would allow you to rebuild the motor at your own pace and then once you have the motor put all back together, you can do the engine swap at that point.
