Hello,

I am new to this forum and new to x type ownership. A difficult start(or fail to start) to my relationship with my jag. Now that it does start (after a new battery) I have a misfire when driving up hill or in too high a gear for the revs/speed and I try to accelerate.

I am hoping that this is something easily fixed. The engine light is on and I am waiting for an auto electrician to hook up a computer to re set it. could this be part of the problem? Otherwise runs and drives lovely.

Tony,

Before the auto electrician resets the MIL, have him read any stored or pending error codes.

Post them here (the actual codes - not descriptions) and the model experts will be able to tell you a lot more about the possible causes of the misfire.
