2001 Xtype auto transmission (NL posting)
Hi;
I bought me 2001 X-Type in April 2010 with just 80KLMS on the clock and full service. Over the moon with joy - despite having the fear factor that the dreaded auto transmission could hit.... Nov 2010 breakdown truck time.
It happend in a curious way, where we drove 15klms parked up and on the return journey the box directly started to slip mostly in 3rd under any exceleration, just like a clutch failure. I drove home and verified later with the breakdown guy that the tranny was the issue and he advise skipping the Jaguar dealer (who had quoted €3500) without evening seeing the car and sent me to a tranny specialist TSC de Betuwe in Geldermalsen.
TSC rebuilt and replaced with an uprated thingy for just €1500 incl.
Top service and back into a top car..
