I was reading the forum, and read "take the battery cable off for one minute and put it back on.
Just before taking the car to Auto Zone to have the ODBE II oxygen sensor check I took the cable off. THE LIGHT WENT OUT. YES, YES!
Does this mean my battery is weak. Brought it from Jaguar. It is not a year old.
Anyway thanks everybody.
I love this forum!

Juanita, depends on what the code is for. I would say before you just go clearing codes, you need to know what the code is. If the same code keeps coming back, then that would lead to me thinking it is more a part is needing attention/replaced vice random codes due to a weak battery. Granted, you can take the car to your local parts place and they will do a free load test to see if the battery is the issue.
When it comes to batteries and how long they last, it is a guess as to how long any one will do. IT is possible that you have a bad cell which is affecting things. The load test will tell you a lot. Get the print out if the guy is saying that the battery is weak. That way, when you take it back to the dealership to get the battery swapped out on warrantee, you have proof. Cold is not good on a battery and that may be why it is suddenly appearing.

If you're asking if the "check engine" light came on because the battery is weak, the answer is no.
Now, some codes (in temp computer memory) can be cleared by cutting power to the computer (pulling the battery cable)....but hard codes (real issues) cannot.
What you did means you had a "soft fault" and you cleared the computer memory by pulling the battery cable off.
So...if the fault light stays off, you fixed it, lol!
If not...and it comes back...well, you have a problem that will need to be fixed.
But it isn't (99% sure) your battery.
P.S. Make sure you have the radio code the next time you do that......(if you have the stock radio in your car).
