Default 2002 X TYPE Sensors

Thanks for recent help and advice concerning lambda sensors on my x type 2002 2.5 V6
I was asked for fault readout number.
It shows P1647. I recently had a sensor fitted but engine management light is still on. I am told I have four sensors in the car.
Kind regards from Yorkshire.
Gerry

I've moved your post from the UK regional section to the X--Type section where you will get better response

DTC code 1647 is telling you the Bank 2 Upstream sensor is faulty. The sensor is located before the catalytic convertor on the exhaust next to the radiator. The sensor is a 4 wire heated sensor with a grey plug. The connection is to the front of the battery. You need to remove the battery and battery box. Once you remove them you will see the 2 plugs mounted to the battery box bracket.
Before you remove and change the sensor make sure that fuse #38 and #42 in the box in the engine compartment are good. They power the Bank 1 and 2 oxygen sensors.

1 upstream, 1 downstream, 2 banks, thus 4. P1647 says it's bank 2, sensor 1 (upstream). Be sure to change the correct one and for the correct type
