Has anyone successfully performed this task? I have seen plenty of cd players on ebay sold from non-navi X's with the key pad and small screen above the cd player and I was wondering if the key pad comes apart from the cd player part? And if it will be a simple plug in play if I swap it out with my cassette under the navi? There is also a navi screen w/cd player attached for sale on ebay right now which came out of an 05 X. Mine being an 02 does anyone know if that would fit my X? Will it be plug & play? Also the 05 X's have dsp, sub level control and a few other goodies. I would suspect that would not be an issue if all of such is controled in the amp & not the head unit. But does anyone know for sure?

 

The premium settings (DSP,SUBLEVEL) are controlled when the system is connected to an amp.Mine originally didnt have these functions and went for the 2004- premium upgrade with seperate amp and sub (better than the -2004 with the amp biult into the sub).On connecting everything up after the amp and speakers and sun were fitted I then had DSP,Sub Level from the original head unit.
Not sure on your other queries though.
