Default 2003 jagaur x-type fan control module question

I have a 2003 Jaguar X-type 2.5l that is overheating. I replaced the water pump, thermostat, and did a radiator flush(COOLANT WASNT THAT BAD). The car ran fine for about 30 miles and then it started to over heat again. I pulled over and open the hood to check for anything obvious. Then suddenly the fan started and stayed on. I then jumped back in the car and turned it on, then within a few seconds the temp was within normal ranges. Could this be the fan control module?

I had a similar issue where the temperature readout on the dash was showing overheating. I changed the coolant temperature sensor (easy to get to) and this resolved my issue.

Note I tried a $6 sensor first and this made the issue worse. Purchased a genuine $35 sensor from Jaguar and now my temperature reads in the middle of the dash gauge. The car was never overheating, it just showed an incorrect reading on the dash gauge. Note for physical installation: You can either be really fast in swapping the temp sensor as coolant pours out (the coolant reservoir is higher than the sensor, so coolant will gravity feed out of the sensor hole), or get a turkey baster and remove some coolant from the overflow reservoir first.
