Hi, i have a 3.0 v6 2003 jaguar x-type, and need to know how to completely remove the seat from the car. i got all the bolts off and disconnected the wire harness, i just cant seem to find out how to remove the seat belt from the chair. anyone out there willing to help??

 

 

Make sure you disconnect the battery for about an hour first and NEVER EVER try to do a resistance test on the air bag as the voltage in a multimeter could set it off.

you can also disconnect the battery and touch them together positive and negative cables this will discharge any leftover residue power

 

Seat removal is very straight forward.
1. Remove the front and rear fasteners that hold it to the floor.
2. Tilt it back to the rear and remove the fastener that hold the seat wiring connector in place.
3. Lift it out of the vehicle.
The seat belt coupler where the belt is inserted is bolted to the seat. You remove the fastener after the seat is removed from the vehicle and then remove the connections.
