2003 X-Type 2.5 Click but No Crank, No Start
Hey guys, need some help. A couple of months ago my X wouldn't start, tried jump starting and nothing. Battery was just about a year old so took it to the people who replaced the last one and they swapped it out.
Ran fine for about a month but once again, car just clicks once when trying to start. When it first happened I put the key in and went to start but the entire car went dark (no lights, no nothing). Looked at it for awhile took a break came back out and all the lights came back on when I opened the passenger door but still just one click.
Pulled the battery took it to the interstate battery dealer near by and they said the battery tested fine, fully charged and passed CCA's.
Got a Voltmeter and started drop testing it. It showed it was dropping 14.4v from the + battery post to the starter post and 14v from the + post to the clamp. So went to O'Reilly's picked up a new cable and clamp and replaced them my self since a whole new cable assembly is $170+ from the dealer or $91+ online.
Still click no start... Battery Shows Full at 12.56v...
Drop tested again:
When Starting:
+ Post to Clamp is showing 4.1v...
+ Post to Starter is 2.9...
- Post to Body Ground is 1.7v...
- Post to Block is 22.5v...
- Post to Clamp is 7.7v...
Please Help! Starter was replaced about 1 1/2 years ago. Car over the past couple of years every couple months it would randomly not start when first tried but then would start again after a minute or so???
I'm thinking maybe a bad ground for sure but what about the drop with the new clamp and new batt + to starter cable???

I did and it said its was at like 22v's which is a little weird??? I took it off and cleaned the connections on both ends to no avail. I'm thinking of going through and replacing all the cables and see if that works...
Has anyone with a similar issue done this themselves with aftermarket cables from the auto parts store and did it help?
Is there anything special with the X's that make it different from other cars in respect to voltage and voltage drops?
