Default 2004 Jag Xenon Upgrade and Milage

Hey guys,

I'm totally new to cars and upgrades. Was wondering how I should approach the following:

1. I want to install some HID 6000k hi/lo and fog lamps on the Jag. Is there is "simple to install" kit OR "best" kit to buy in Canada?

2. I'm getting about 16MPG on my X-Type AWD 3.0 2004. Is that normal or should I be fixing something to get it down?

Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated!

Cheers!

Hey, not sure where you are in Canada. I am in Vancouver and a place in North Burnaby did mine for $180 bucks complete. I am not very mechanically inclined and have read that it can be a tricky undertaking. If you are in the Lower Mainland the shop name is http://www.nmotionauto.com/. When I called and got a price quote...I asked if they had any specials coming up - and then they gave me a better deal on the spot.

Blank, installing HIDs into the fog lights is not a hard job, but it does take some fabrication on your part. The bulbs that you buy will not have the correct mounting for the bulb. So, you have to take the halogen bulb base, remove the bulb, then drill a 1/2" hole through the base so you can slide the bulb through. From there, you can use some caulking and seal up the opening. The wiring isn't a big issue either as you can simply wire the ballasts for the HIDs to the factory wiring (ensuring to get the polarity correct).
