Can you take a 3.0 litre from a manual X-Type and drop it into a 2.1 litre manual if the 2.1 manual engine is giving up?

probably.. but what's the price of a 3 litre x-type engine? wouldn't it be better just to buy a 3 litre x-type car?

Also, isn't the 2.1 litre FWD only? not sure how much fun you get out of the 3 litre with only fwd along with the worse fuel economy

 

the 4wd on the 3.0 is down to gear box+transfer box. the question is would the 2.1 gear box take the power of a 3.0

and of course if in the uk have to inform dvlc AND pay the extra road tax
