AAA names X Type one of the 10 worst of the decade

Not true for looks that's for sure but for reliability they are probably correct. They must have to towed allot of them. Here was one of the comments I read. A 2002 Jaguar X-Type can be had for up to $8,500. A 2002 Honda Civic goes for up to $9,275.

I just bought my X Type, used, so I cannot comment on reliability issues.
I knew for the past year that I was going to be in the market for a used car, and I've been looking around. I was looking a lot at Audi, and then BMW and Mercedes. Audi was a bit unique, while BMW and Mercedes seemed to be bland and there are a lot of of them on the road. I was also looking at Saab, convertables, and they seemed fun.
I researched all of these cars and didn't come up with anything bad - Until I researched Saab. Seems in 2003/ 2004 GM took over and pretty much destroyed the cars images by allowing them to have a lot of electrical problems.
I'm new to Jaguar and didn't buy my Jaguar because of it's name; It just happened to catch my eye on the lot when I was looking. Three weeks in and I can't find any complaints. People look at my car and think it's brand new, and the ride is as smooth as silk.

You know, so what. Mine runs great, I do have a lingering problem with the auto level headlights. and I had to have the front and rear swaybar bushings replaced. But other than that I have had my 03 one year this month and once I got use to the car, I love it. The AAA can stick there data up where the sun don't shine.
If there so bad, why don't you very seldom see any on a used car lot, or even a Jaguar dealers lot. Do people go and have them crushed? Or do they just drive them and enjoy.

Yup, agreed, and you know the best part? It's that there is always a "Wow" moment when you show up somewhere. No one notices 3-Series, A4s, Cs, etc., but EVERYONE notices when a Jaguar arrives!
No, no... the absolute best part was actually when, at the Autocross last week, an XKE owner stopped by and told me how much he'd always liked the X-Type.
Priceless!!!

Jaguar - it's not an automobile, it's a Motorcar

As I said the AAA can take their opinion and stick it. As I said in on post a while back. I came out of a Subway shop and a women was taking pictures of my car and raving how beautiful it was and what a lucky guy I am. Also, I was getting into my car at Stop and Shop and a guy in a Cadillac parked in front of me and got out of his car and raved for 10 minutes how beautiful the car was, wanted to know the details about it, couldn't believe it was a 03 and he went on and on. So that being said, these cars are a iconic symbol, unique in all aspect and a keeper.

"Whoa, a Jaguar. They must be doing well".
And the funny thing is no one knows it's a ten year old car. All they see is "Jaguar".
