Default ? about vacuum leak detection smoke test

I did smoke test on my 3.0 today, this time I connected thru the brake booster inlet on manifold top. Where the quick connect deal is.
I found some smoke escaping thru the other quick connect on manifold top near the throttle body.

So my question is, is this normal? I do not know, possible the connection may seal under a vacuum and leak under pressure.

innzane,
What you could try is start the engine get a friend who smokes to blow smoke and see if it gets pulled in where you think the leak is.
cigars work best i have found.
Another way to test is get a can of throttle body cleaner spray it on the suspected area and see if the tone of the engine changes indicating the vapors are being pulled in. Be very careful as its highly flammable best done when the engine is cold.
stay safe..

What Paul said. If in doubt, see if there is another way to test.

I have sprayed 2 cans all over the motor recently looking for the/if a leak.
Never got it to change tone unless I sprayed it into the air inlet.
But I will try both methods mentioned on this spot again, since it is the most suspect spot I have seen. Maybe even pour some seafoam on it and watch for smoke out the exhaust.

Thanks for the input.

I am working on a P0174 code. That is all that shows besides the P1000.
Started with the cruise not available message, evolved to that and the CEL over 7-8 weeks time.

Innzane,
I had the cruise not available message also turned out my tranny fluid was low.
also had a few other problems and strange codes being thrown by the computer
this actually tuned out to be a weak battery, worth checking these out.
The strangest problem I had was the S button by the J gate would only work sometimes New battery now no problem go figure.

Well I will certainly check my tranny fluid.
And I do have a lil white powder showing on a terminal so I will clean it also.
Thanks again for your input.
