AC question
I have a 2004 x type 3.0. I was driving today and my ac was working perfect. I stopped at a store for 5 minutes and then started driving again. My ac blew mildly cool air, but not cold like it always does. What should I check, I wouldn't expect it to stop all of a sudden. BY cool I mean outside temp was 99, car might have been 85
Thanks

I just had to replace the compressor on mine. Not a hard job. A technician told me that I should take to a shop and have them evacuate the system and hold a vacuum on it for about 2 hours and then recharge the system. Said this would help to eleminate any moisture in the system as well.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I woke up this am and it still blowing warm air. I went to my mechanic and he said that with how abrupt it stopped he felt it was probably a modulator or some other electrical problem and recommended I take it to the Jaguar dealership here, because they would have the right equipment to scan it. But he said to cycle the thermostat on the way there, turn it up to 85 and then all the way down to Low, and see what happens. i did that and it started working. He told me sometimes you just have to cycle the system and get it to reset.
I don't understand, but the damn thing works and didn't cost be a dime.
I'm sure the Jaguar dealership or other mechanics would have charged me a few hundred bucks and said they had to replace stuff.

6294, if you listen when you shut off the car, you can hear the dampers and whatnot shifting. Occasionally, they will stick and it can lead to what you were feeling. In your case, the temp control door was sticking and it was allowing a mixture of hot and cool air to reach you.
Keep an eye on things and go from there. If it happens again, you may need to check out the drive motor for the temp door. It could be failing and it is not reaching the final step of the motor movement. I think that is what is wrong with my car as I have noticed that when I drive down the road, the air is luke warm, but when I stop, it will get really cold. I also notice that the driver's vents have warmer air coming out of them than the passenger vents.
