AC recharge fitting locations.

AC recharge fitting locations.
The AC in my 2003 X-Type is not working so well. I figured I would attempt to recharge it. I can find the high side connection; at the fire wall on the left. However I need the low side connection and I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is? Do I need to remove something to get at it?
I got the service manual. What a mess! After much searching I found the AC section but the drawings are not complete enough to show the recharge fittings. The AC section seems mostly useless!
Pete.

I did find it, thank you. I tested the pressure and it is correct. Now I have a problem, the obvious thing is OK!
When I use the A/C the air comes out cold but the air is very damp. It is very uncomfortable. Now I am thinking that the condensate drain might be blocked. Is there an easy way to check this? Where does the drain hose run in the car?
Thanks,
Pete.

Hello,
If the air coming from the outlets smells like mold/mildew then it may have formed in the evaporator box. I haven't checked mine but on most cars there's a rubber hose that exits from the firewall and is where condensate drains. Check yours to be sure it isn't clogged using a straight piece of wire like a coathanger. The pollen filter for the HVAC unit is located under the plastic panel beneath the windshield wipers. Remove the panel clips, take out the filter and check under it for mold. It's also a good time to replace the pollen filter. There are commercial automotive duct cleaner sprays available but you can also use Lysol. With the A/C fan on high, spray the air inlet that is accessible once the filter is removed. You may have to do this a few times if there's mold. But, be sure the drain is clear first. When the A/C is on and the car is stopped you should see water dripping from the hose indicating it's doing what it's supposed to.
Good luck,
Steve
