Hello all!

I just found this 2005 X-type 3.0 Sport with 45,533 miles and a 5-speed manual tranny for $14,995, and wanted to know if it is a good deal and If I should buy it. It is located about 11 hours away from me, so I can't just go and test drive it, what should I do? I wish there was a 3.0 manual around my area that I could test drive. I did test drove a 2.5L manual once and it felt very slow and the engine noise was a little bit too loud on the inside of the car... How does the 3.0 compare to the 2.5 in power, is it a lot more powerful?

I say go and buy it. As long as you have some mechanical aptitude, you should be able to fix just about anything on the car that routinely fails. The 3.0L motor has lots of low end power. Just make sure that the clutch has lots of pedal left and the rest should be golden. By 05 most of the major problems had been worked out. So, get it and go from there. Granted, you may want to check out http://www.texascarsdirect.com and see how the price compares to there. TCD is about as low as you will find.

So if this Jag is a Sport edition (as the guy claims it is) then it is supposed to have the sport suspension, right? If so, how do I find out if it indeed has the sport suspension? Also, how come this Jag doesn't have the Alcantara seats and the "carbon fiber" dashboard if it is the Sport edition? Can I easily install both? Where would be the cheapest place to find these parts. The rims are also 17" not the 18"s as the sport edition should be? Another thing, if anybody noticed in the pics, that the front air dam (the lip bellow the bumper) is broken, where would be the cheapest to get a genuine one just like it and how much?

Also, it has been a lease vehicle, you all think it has been abused and is probably a piece of junk now??? Here is a CARFAX report on it, let me know what you think... BTW did anyone do business with this company, what do you have to say? It looks like this car was driven all this time in Connecticut and we all know what the weather up there is like, this car most likely is all rusted to shreds???
