Default airbag light on

i have a b2296 impact sensor fault from what i have read this car has many impact sensors on it how can i tell which one it is and where is the front sensor located ?

scootrs, not to dive into this too far, but if you look at your Airbag light, do you notice it flashing randomly. If you look, you should see it flash like 4 times, pause, then say 2 times, pause, flash 4 times, pause ..... This would help us narrow down where the problem is.

ok will do thermo will get to this asap and let you know i did notice that it flashed at a constant rate

ok thermo i just got the flashes it flashes 4 times then 2 times any input would be very helpful trying to figure out all these little bugs that is has thanx again

is it possible to tell me where this sensor is located? i know its in the front but where?

Adjacent to the hood catch is all the manual says.

ok found the front sensor it is under the hood catch 6 8mm bolts and it is under the catch

scootrs, this is not something that you can really test. If you do test it, make sure that you unplug the sensor first. No sense in risking setting off all your airbags. I would need to do some looking around in the info that I have. Maybe I can find something that you can use to determine if it is good or not.

i would think that it is some sort of switch that should be open or closed no real sure the connection were all tight as was the sensor just want to see if there is a test to see before i go and buy one

scootrs, unfortunately, I do not have the tidbit of information that you can expect to find for the resistance of the impact module. Granted, I would think that you could find another impact module, measure that resistance and then the one you are questioning should be very similar to that one. Just remember to unplug before measuring. Things going pop would not make for a good day.
