Will this work in an X Type? Its advertised for an S Type, Mercury Cougar, and a Ford Focus.

Or has anyone ever tried it? Correct me if I'm wrong but... doesn't the X-Type radio have an input for the CD changer like the S-Type? And both cars use the same Jag ACM?I'm just trying to get good quality sound without having to splash out the best part of $500 for the Jag part. Right now I'm using the FM modulator and I get mediocre sound and background hiss using iPods and iPhones.

By the way, heres a Jag ACM of an XK for under $200. Would this work in my X-Type with a Denson download?

I am about to pull my X-Type ACM because we have Iphone 5's and this will not allow any connectivity. It will slowly charge, but will not spool up the music.

If you are interested, after i pull it, I will make a deal for you.

I asked about the XK ACM in another thread and was told it isn't compatible. It would be nice though since it's much cheaper.

Try the kit and see if it works, you could always sell it to someone else on eBay if it doesn't. It would be great if the $75 kit works as good as the $400 kit. I can tell you that from the picture, the iPod cable appears to have the same connectors as the ACM's iPod cable on both ends

EDIT:

Now that I think about it, the $75 eBay kit won't work. Notice how it says S-Type up to 2002, whereas the ACM is for S-Types 2003 and beyond as well as X-Types. Unfortunately that won't work with the fiber optic system on the newer models.
