Got the old style module installed today and all seems well for the moment. I suspect it is not hot enough to really tell if I have cured the problem. I will follow up later as the weather turns hot again.
I also found a gates site that shows the 134 is just the module and 134k includes the connectors needed to convert from the old style module.
