Default Another obscure part needed...

Morning fellows.
I replaced my defroster vents on the front cowl. But I'm having problems finding the small securing plugs to tighten them down. They were missing when I bought the car. The old vents were all brittle and cracked due to the Florida sun.
Anyone have any ideas? Of maybe a ford part that may fit?
Jeff

Dealer sells them. Come two in a pack. Don't remember the price but not much. Maybe $10 or so.

I purchased 4 plugs last year for my Wife's X-Type, tried to find them the other day, could not find them, looked everywhere.

The plug was a little hard to snap-in place, had to bend the two prongs a bit for it to go in .

I got two of them from TerrysJag for less than $6 including shipping. Had to trim the tabs slightly to install, but they worked well.

I need to buy some plugs for my dash defroster but I am unsure of the color. I'm not sure what Jaguar considers the color of my interior to be officially. Is there a way to determine the color for certain? I have attached two pictures of the defroster in the hopes that someone might know the color...I'm thinking sable but I want to be sure before ordering...thanks!

2002 x type, body color Topaz (generic=gold) interior Sand (Jag code ADX) I guessed at the color, ordered Mocha (code AMB) Plugs match the dash color, but the defrost vents are a lighter color, toward tan. Trimmed plugs slightly, worked fine, however other end (toward middle) will not stay down. Ant suggestions?

Looking up parts for a mystery car is difficult.

We have no idea MAKE, MODEL,YEAR or interior trim code.
The VIN sticker on the 'A' pillar has PAINT and TRIM info.

More info please.

Type in: VIN Decoder in search box at top. When page comes up, enter you vehicle's VIN. All relevant info will come up.

Ugh...I just typed in the VIN and all it gave me were the possible interior colors...for my 2003 Pacific Blue 3.0 x-type, the standard interior colors are charcoal, dove, ivory, and sand...based on those choices, I would say that sand comes the closest...what do you all think based on the pictures I posted? Also, I didn't see a "sand" choice for ordering replacement defroster plugs...any suggestions?

Thanks Bob,

I checked the VIN plate on "A" pillar and it told me the trim code for my Jag...the trim code is ADX. My problem now is that doesn't seem to be a choice for the plug color in the other posts that I have read...any suggestions? And what color is ADX??? Thanks!

Car's trim color is on the ID plate found on the B pillar.

Also be aware that Jaguar issued MANY TSBs for the X-Type and this was addressed with XT412-01.

Double sided trim tape does the trick.
