Anyone have a broken transfer case or prop shaft?

Anyone have a broken transfer case or prop shaft?
I see enough posts on this website about people getting their transfer case replaced but I don't see anything about what happens to the old one.
Does anybody that has had their transfer case replaced still have the old/damaged unit? I need a transfer case to dissect so I can find a source for bearings and other internal parts. I've also decided that I am going to have my transfer case internals cryo-treated to make them stronger- hopefully it will hold up to the 350+ hp I plan on producing with two turbochargers under the hood
I need anyone who may have an old/broken transfer case to speak up. I am willing to offer money for a unit that would otherwise be thrown away. I also have a buddy that does a lot of welding who is going to make me a transfer case bracket to help re-inforce the case under load (7000 rpm launches...)
Also looking for a bad propeller shaft. A company that is a few miles away from me makes 1-piece carbon fiber driveshafts for ~1000 that would not only make the car faster, but it would also have no U-joints to go bad due to the 1-piece design. Considering a factory replacement driveshaft is about $1200, I think $1000 for a performance aftermarket unit is a steal! Not to mention maintenance free.

RE: Anyone have a broken transfer case or prop shaft?
I have no idea what a used/broken transfer case is worth. I was thinking maybe $100? It's not like it can be used for anything other than parts. I'm not trying to low-ball or anything, I really have no clue what it is worth. I know that on other platforms a used (working) AWD transfer case runs ~$50-250. I've never attempted to buy something broken before, but I need one for fabrication reasons.

If I had one Tokay you could have it for nuthin bro.........shipping only!
$100 seems like a really fair price for sumthin thats broken and of no use to anybody other than for parts. Even then, only if you're really mechanically minded I guess!
What'd you reckon Santi?
Btw...........so guys, dint mean to butt in or anything, just my thoughts for what they're worth.

HELP!! broken transfer case / prop shaft needed!!!
Tokay - Just for you! As this sounds an interesting project and you need a little help to get it off the ground, I'm gonna pin this to the top for a while to see if we cant get you sorted.
In the meantime, why dont you email / pm ken@britishparts and Jag genius to see what they may be able to do for you?
Good luck
Jim
I never heard from santi again, perhaps he hasn't re-visited the site? I will keep bumping this thread to the top until someone with a broken transfer case or prop shaft decides to sell/donate it to me. Once I have a transfer case I can't see it taking me much more than a few weeks to have a transfer case cage welded up.
Thanks for the help. Hopefully I will be able to find one then bring a new product to the table. I also know a transmission guy with a state of the art facility that does simply amazing work. If I give him the broken case he will be able to find sources for all the internal parts and perhaps he will offer a transfer case re-build service. I've spoken with him about his before and he said he'd take a look once I gave him something to work with.

Just noticed you made the post stick to the top for a while- much appreciated. I will email/PM the people you mentioned later today when I get home from work. Thanks for the help with this. Hopefully something will come of it so we can get some stronger parts for the transfer case.
