Anyone know how to remove the city lights in the high beams?
Hey guys,
Quick Question. I want to swap my city lights for some other bulbs... I pulled the screw on cover off of the back of the high beam for the headlight, and I feel that little socket, but no matter which way i twisted it, i couldnt get the bulb (with the back of the socket) to slide out.
Am I doing something wrong? Anyone managed to do this?
Thanks,
George

..and for the love of God, PLEASE be careful pushing the new bulb/socket back into place. Too much force can break part of the internal headlight housing and cause the reflector assembly drop forward and down about an inch. It doesn't drastically affect the aim of the headlight, but you will notice a difference, and from what I hear the only way to fix it is replace the unit. Luckily non-hid headlight assemblies can be had on ebay for around $50.
Don't ask me how I learned this lesson...
But anyway, I replaced mine with two white/blue LEDs and a small resistor wired to a plastic "dummy" 194 sized bulb base. A friend of mine is really into electronics/LEDs and whipped them up for me in an afternoon. They're a great match to the HIDs.
