automatic gearbox

I am a proud owner of Jaguar X-Type 53/2004 diesel with manual gearbox & I am thinking about changing the gearbox from manual to automatics as my wife could only managed to pass the automatic test. is it possible?, would I expect any problems with the car?, and how much it will cost me fitted.

It is possible, but wud cost you a lot. Ure prolly better off just buying an auto, im pretty sure that will be a lot cheaper. good luck with it

04's right.........really you shoulda bought an Auto from the start........I reckon costs would prohhibit the change bud

I've never heard of or seen an auto X type diesel and at the X type seminar Jaguar said they had no plans to fit (technical problems might have been space cant remember).
If you win the lottery let us know if and how you managed to do it as you would be the first.
Your Jag dealer should be able to confirm this.
