It's an easy job if I'm not mistaken. You've got to drain the coolant system (but flushing antifreeze is not a bad idea anyway) and then it's pretty straightforward.
Oh and you've got to remove the battery to get some room to do the job.

Once you get the battery and battery box out of the way you will have all the access you need. While you are at it you might as well change the drive belt, it's a mini serpentine kind of thing. Looks a little like it should be driving a sewing machine. I think I paid $12 for one.

mobile, if you can rotate your tires, you can do a water pump on this car. LIke was mentioned, you need to remove the battery. Then you lift up on the tensioner and slide the belt off. From there, you undo 4 bolts holding the pulley to the water pump. Finally you undo like 8 bolts and the pump is ready to be removed. Install is the reverse process.

After you do it, you will be questioning why you waited so long because it is so easy. I put it right up there as being easier to do that a water pump on a late 70's RWD car with no emissions stuff on it.

Thanks all. I had to take my car in to replace alternator. But looking at the water pump looked like something I could handle. So thanks.
