Hello,
Got this 02 Xtype from an auction and I'm going to clean under the hood tomorrow since I am off. But observing the car I see this dirty looking plastic bag under the manifold.
























Do anybody know what this is? Is it suppose to be there?


I have attached a picture so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I pulled the manifold off to replace the valve cover gasket, and was annoyed with the half-assed tape job on the wire loom in back of it that a previous owner had done. He must have used 50 feet of tape! Looked like something I would have slapped together to save a few pennies.

Then, I saw a picture online of what I thought was my engine bay, and thought "This is the tape-happy guy!"

Then I realized that that is how they came from the factory...

 

That's where the pot-heads stashed their herb while they worked on the assembly line.
