X type 2002 3.0

Had the battery symbol light up on the dash for several months,
had no problem running the car.

Then the light went away for a few months.

The battery is good, charge is good

Now the light is back .

What should I look for???????

A common problem for the x-type is the battery cable corrosion.
First remove and clean the cable connections at the battery, Examine the Positive cable for corrosion along the wire strands. They are prone to corrosion inside the cable.
Next remove and clean the opposite end of the cables. Remove from the starter and polish and tighten. The ground is underneath the battery mount.
This if the alternator is good and the battery is good should solve your light issue.
