I have read through the forum and every time the battery warning light comes on, the experienced ones will suggest checking the battery terminals heat,
I did have the light come on yesterday, i know i am using a lot of power since my fans a connected always at high speed, and my AC is on, so at night, when i turn my headlights on, the battery warning light comes on, and when i parked the car, after a 30 KM drive, here is my temp. reading on the terminals, hoping this will narrow down my options
negative, Car still running, Coolant temp. 95C No Battery warning light Positive, Car still running, Coolant temp. 95C No Battery warning light
battery terminals temperature
Just added these readings, help ? Voltage @ battery terminals, car running, no load ( no fans no A/C no Lights) Voltage @ battery terminals, car running, Full Load, ( A/C on full blast, Both cooling fans full blast, headlights on) OBD Voltage Reading, full Load.
Drive the car till gets good and hot and light comes on thats when you check it. Youll find that usually the positive is to hot to touch and you need to replace the cables. See lots of xtype come in still for battery lights with new alternators from indy shops that dont know the cars. So whos more expensive? Just had another 2 weeks ago.
You can monitor the battery voltage throughtthe i pack while driving and see.more than a .2volt drop is too much resistance which just goes up with heat generating more heat and more resistance.
so i tried to replace the alternator cable,
The space is too tight for my hand to go in all the way and reach the nut with 12 mm wrench, i need an extension, i will fabricate that tomorrow.
Meanwhile, i took out the cable at the battery end and it has some corrosion, i cleaned it with a metal brush and put it back, will test to see today.
Could not wait until tomorrow, so i made the extension.
I will not try to replace the cable though, i have to lift the car up again.... i will test it today and see how it goes.
Here are the pics.
this will work only with automatic wrenches, pictures attached.
I think, if the connectors are getting tot, there must be a huge resistance between the battery connector and the cable.
Cleaning with a steel brush, sandpaper etc.
Before assembly some acid free grease, tighten the clamps properly, and I think your problem is over.

NO, its in the cable, been down this road since the mid 2000's
its a multiple cable. Battery, alt., starter, and i do the link lead to the fuse box and negative cables as well.
I started replacing my cables as advised by the elders
and i decided to start with the fuse box underside 150 AMP fuse cable that comes from the battery terminal, so i took out the fuse box, checked the fuse and the cables, there was rust on them, i cleaned with sand paper, and decided to give it a try, since i did not get battery terminals and once you start this job you have to replace the terminals with new ones to install the new cables, anyway., i had to put it back, so i started assembling the wires, and !!!!!!! i did not take a picture before hand.
Now i tried to insert a connector in all of the sockets, it would only go in 1 socket, if this is the case, then i am fine, each connector will go in it's own socket, if not,
