As mentioned in a prior post, I drove down to Bill's in CT and bouht one of his TC fluid changing kits. Well, the other day I finally got around to the job, and it went fast and easy. Bill has a winner here. The kit is complete with instructions and recommendations on how to do easily complete this project. I plan to do it again this weekend to get more of the old stuff out. Like many of you, I got about a cup of black sludge out of my TC (sealed for life my foot). The kit also comes with a connector to change your rear differential fluid (same as the TC) as well. I'll also be doing this in a few days. Do yourself a favor and check this out.

Just curios, what year is your X and how many miles? What kind of fluid did you put back in?

 

Its a 2004 3.0. I bought it last year with 34,000 on it. At the time of the TC fluid change last week, about 44,000. I will do the change every 10,000 miles, or every other oil change. I used what Bill recommended - Sta Lube, about $45 for the 2 qt. bottle (available at NAPA).Its a 75-140 weight and meets Jag specs.If you want the full details, give Bill a shout.
