Default Bleeding Brakes

Hello I just recently got my speedometer fixed. Got new cv joints and wheel speed sensors. While I was at it we changed the wheel bearings and calipers in the rear. Somehow the brake reservoir cap broke and I got a bunch of air in the system. Only fluid is coming out of the calipers, but the abs light is on and im not trusting the stopping of the brakes. Is there a way to just bleed the abs system without going to the dealership? Any pictures would be great I don't want to screw it up more and have to have it towed. Thanks.

quinnjere, bleeding the brakes is easy. The recommended sequence for doing the brakes is left rear, right rear, left front, then right front. As for bleeding the brakes, I recommend getting your hands on a roll of masking tape, 4-5 feet of tygon tubing (something to fit on to the caliper nipple under the rubber boot), and a heavy jar/container (I find used alcohol bottles or mayonaise jars work good). What you will do is to jack up the corner of the car and remove the wheel. From there, you attach the tygon tubing to the nipple and then you lift it up and tape it to the top of the wheel well and let the other end droop into the jar. From there, using an 11mm wrench, open the nipple and then pump the brakes till you get a solid stream of fluid from the caliper (you will see the air bubbles collect at the top of the tubing). Once you get the solid stream of fluid that is near clear, shut the nipple and then remove the tubing. At this point, move on to the next wheel.

Remember to keep the fluid reservoir topped up with fluid. i would hate to see you be on the last wheel and have to start all over because the fluid level got too low.

I bled the brakes like that and straight fluid is coming out. I think I messed the abs system up though.

Bled the brakes and they work great. abs light comes on intermittently. Changed wheel speed sensors, going to wait and see if the light just goes away.

Check all the abs plugs at the wheels. I had a NSX back in the day that did the same thing after I put new breaks on it. I ended up not getting the ABS sensor plugged in all the way. So it would connect and come undone when I would hit a bump.
