Default Bluetooth Mic Please Help

Hello All,
I am new to Jag, just got a 2009 x-type with 79k 2.2D, I am having a bit of a struggle with making phone calls, I have managed to pair my iphone and make a call, I can hear the other end loud and clear on the speakers but they cannot hear me, I got a mic on the roof console driver side, all seems well, is there any settings for the mic or any mute buttons, it's driving me crazy, any help appreciated

Thanks Alan

Alan,
I have an older 03 so not sure on the settings but it might be useful to check to see about lint or dust in the Mic with a toothpick Just be careful not to break the Mic there are fragile like a speaker.

Stu, the first time you pair the phone you have to type on the touchscreen phone menu:

##3#*# then press the on-screen button showing the phone being picked up (think it's green?)

Then the Jag will be discoverable to your phone & you can pair in the usual way on your phone,

Not all phones work though as the bluetooth in the Jag is an early version and some modern phones us an updated version.

Alan, have you tried pairing a different phone to yours to see if your mic works with that, this will rule out a faulty mic, it could be a comparison problem with your current phone

Also, Bluetooth is an OPTION and not a standard fit. Although cars have the microphone and steering wheel controls, they do not necessarily have the PSU (Portable Support Unit) and Interface Module fitted.

The Jaguar Bluetooth Connectivity Centre lists compatible phones and pairing instructions:

http://jaguar50.nextgen-technology.n...=23&RegionId=1

Some other phones can be paired but with limited functionality such as address book not working.

Just a thought, for anyone having a similar problem - it might be that changing the bluetooth connection app on an Android phone will get you connected. There are free versions available on the Google Play Store. I installed a bluetooth connection app with good 'star' ratings and several hundred thousand downloads, which worked very quickly. I'd been stuck on 'Connecting...' without it. I don't have outgoing audio yet, but that's probably a different problem.
