Default "Bonnet" Open Switch

There appears to be a switch to detect whether or not the hood is open, but mine doesn't function. I've had the car running while the hood was open and there was no message. Do I need a new switch?

I may be wrong on this, and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I believe the switch under the hood (or bonnet if in UK :-)) is only there to set off the alarm if the bonnet is opened whilst the alarm is armed.. for example if you are parked up, alarm on, and someone forces the bonnet open to disconnect your battery in an attempt to disable the alarm...

Well, I'm not going to try testing that LOL.

However, I believe I've seen in other forums that people have gotten "Bonnet Open" messages on their display.

If it's not a simple/cheap fix then I'm not going to bother, but it would be nice to get it working

What would be slick is to wire some under the hood LEDs for that so you didn't have to get overhead lighting...hmmm next project maybe...

oznium here I come
