Default In-built telephone system not working

Hello again,

I've never thought that my Jaguar has a telephone built in it. I've put SIM inside the device (Motorola analogue phone) and connected RJ45 cable to the module under armrest. When I clicked on the phone button on the sat-nav, it says "The phone is currently switched off" and Power On button is flashing. When I press it, stereo makes a beep but nothing else. Also, telephone itsself doesn't light up or anything and makes strange clicking noise in the speaker (every half seconds or so).
What could be the problem? I tried to disconnect RJ45 connector multiple times and still the same. Thanks in advance

Default Jaguar Phone

Hi Wares, I am new to this site. I love it! When I purchased my Vanden Plas the phone was missing. I am racking my brain trying to restore this radio phone, that is not used in the US any longer, so I am told. Any suggestions? ANYONE... about how I can go by getting a phone installed in my BEAUTIFUL specimen?

Thanks!

Black Ice

Neither of you mention Model or Year but if you have Jaguars of around 2005 or earlier, the old fixed Jaguar analogue phones will no longer work.

Interesting. I'm in England and can use the one in my 04 STR. What's different about the X-Type - or is it that USA has a different phone system?

Default Telephone

JavV8,

Perhaps. That particular Phone in the Xj's are actually high powered radio phones, the police use. I think the frequency access is the issue. Yet and still, I would love to be able to operate a phone in my Jag!

As I posted, it's not an XJ.

It's a regular mobile (cell) phone system, same as the X-Type (this is the X-Type forum after all).
