Default a/c compressor not working?? not cold air

hi
i was going to post the same question in another thread but looks like it kind of ended.

so my question is what are the failures of compressor failure?
cause air doesn't get colder until i give lots of gas. i got it checked out at two local shops and they both said my compressor is working but not doing its job properly even though low pressure side was around 40is and high was around 250is, which according to my knowledge are normal, aren't they?

so i was going to go ahead and add some freon, but i don't want to waste 30-50 dollar on freon if have to replace a compressor

any ideas?

Your pressures look good. Check to make sure that your recirculation door is not stuck in the fresh air position. I found that on the X-types the only way to get the a/c good and cold is to use recirculation, but many times the door is stuck in fresh air and it will never get all that cold.

i am newbie so i don't how to check for recirculation door, can u guide me right direction?

but i don't understand, my car is stick shift and when i am in neutral gear and just press gas padle and rpm goes to 4000 and up then it gets descent amount of cold but not really cold, so if that door is stuck then it should never get colder no matter if i press gas padle or not.. OR i don't understand recirculation door concept..

just for the info: fan is working in descent speed, and heating seems to be in fine.

and just quick question: do u need compressor for heating? because if yes then my compressor is not the problem and vice versa.

Press the recirc button and listen for an audible change in the fan speed/sound. If there is no change in the way it sounds, then the servo is spinning, but the flap is not moving. Compressor is not used for heat.
